A ball is thrown upwards from the plane surface of the ground. Suppose the plane surface from which the ball is thrown also consists of the points \(A(1,0,2)\), \(B(3,-1,1)\) and \(C(1,2,1)\) on it. The highest point the ball reaches is \(D(2,3,1)\) as shown in the figure. [Figure: a ball at D (2, 3, 1) above a plane surface; line segments join D to the points A (1, 0, 2), B (3, -1, 1) and C (1, 2, 1) lying on the plane.] Using this information answer the questions.

Question 2

Question 3

The equation of the perpendicular line drawn from the maximum height of the ball to the ground is:
  1. A. \(\frac{X-1}{2} = \frac{Y+3}{1} = \frac{Z-5}{-2}\)
  2. B. \(\frac{X-2}{-3} = \frac{Y-3}{2} = \frac{Z-1}{-4}\)
  3. C. \(\frac{X-2}{-3} = \frac{Y-3}{2} = \frac{Z-1}{-4}\)
  4. D. \(\frac{X-2}{3} = \frac{Y-3}{2} = \frac{Z-1}{4}\)

  2. B. \(\left(\frac{9}{7},\frac{-1}{7},\frac{-10}{7}\right)\)
  3. C. \(\left(\frac{43}{29},\frac{77}{29},\frac{9}{29}\right)\)
  4. D. \(\left(-\frac{13}{29},-\frac{7}{29},-\frac{19}{29}\right)\)
